7 Keys to a New Job

When trying to crystallize the real basics of any job search at a presentation recently, this concept resurfaced as the seven keys. As I was placing it on the website the 8th re-appeared.

7 Keys to “get THAT NEXT job.”

1. Understand that: "Tasks are Normally Dismissed, Measurable Accomplishments are Always Recognized."

2. Move from the Herd to be Heard. First task in transition is to get noticed, not interviewed or hired.

3. Get you to know yourself. ACP: Accomplishments, Competencies, and Potentials

4. Write and complete a Narrative, Descriptor, & Accomplishment Report

5. Develop a memorable story that presents a compelling reason to buy you.

6. Understand that the HA’s job is more important to them than giving you an interview or a job.

7. Always say and write thank you notes.

8. Every contact that you make at a "responsible" position in your job search; forever becomes a part of your Real Network.
