Business Types

Types of Business

As you aware there are several types of business that you can apply to for a new job; but there are really only 5 concepts that you need to remember.

The business entity is either designed to:
1. Make money/profit
2. Be a “life-style” company
3. Started by an entrepreneur for personal renown, not necessarily for money or “life-style.
4. Keep the children out of mischief and “employed”
5. The business is a loss leader for the parent company…Tax Deduction.

When prospective company representatives meet with you it is their agenda that you need to remember, you must focus on their needs. V=N+A-C is as true today as it was 40 years ago when I wrote it. Be sure to ask the right questions. Listen to their responses, if unclear ask for clarification. Your analysis can and may be more important to your securing that next job as any presentation you may do.

Remember also, the reason for the Tri-Fold is to enable you to ask how best you fit, because they already have illustrated your value going into the meeting. You got noticed now, use the S.A.L.E.S. method and find out why you are there and then ask for the next step. Just as in the 10 different kinds of CEO’s the 5 different kinds of business determine your approach and your technique for taking the interview to an offer.
