A Manager's Interviewing Thoughts!

Both the candidate and the client must have a "play book," neither can afford to wing it. Remember, if the “right” candidate is interested in your space, and does not secure a job with you, he or she will secure one with a competitor. The candidate, who got away, may be your worst mistake. Forget the paper, look at the person. Seek to uncover that person.

There are five real factors necessary for you to prove to the HA in your interview/presentation in order to prompt an offer:

1. Can you represent the HA without embarrassment or discomfort?

2. Do you understand the “job” (solution sales model), or are you still hung up on the/a product or task?

3. Do you have a track record of success (in closing deals)?

4. Can you prove consistency of effort?

5. Can you prove the ability to call/work at all levels within an organization?

 

If you prove or demonstrate the above then repeat the following you will secure that interview and possibly that job offer.

Your candidacy must add up to a positive equation, you must be an obvious opportunity to the Hiring Authority. If you focus and insure the following three potentials are possible for the HA, an offer is pending.

reduce stress on manager


2.
allow them to make more money


3.
allow them to shine by your success, and gain advancement...superior leadership qualities

 

4. make work easier for the manager

 

5. actually reduce the manager’s risk of termination by hiring you…
