Interview Dress
Interview Dress Etiquette
We repeat again, INTERVIEWS are sales calls and auditions. Your first impression is your clothing, cologne, hair, jewelry, smile, handshake, and eye contact. They are your image for good or ill, they speak for you.
Make it a policy to be more professionally and conservatively dressed than you think is necessary. It is advisable to err on the side of conservatism. It is much better to be overdressed than underdressed. Absolutely do not wear clothing that is too tight or loose.
Remember, just as you must "ask" for the job during the interview, your clothes (physical appearance) ask for the job as well. Your "dress" is the assumptive close, it asks for the next step. It is a predictor of how you act without the Hiring Authority being with you after you have the job.
