Let's address the real cost of transition & coaching:
We need to take in to account the actual opportunity cost (OC) lost by any transition candidate. That OC can best be explained as follows: If you earn an average of $100,000 base salary and $200,000 at plan, then your cost per hour in transition is about $100 per hour. (40 hours times 50 weeks = 2000 hours) If a candidate only spends 28 days in job acquisition mode, then it has cost him/her $22,400 in real lost opportunity compensation. (Please use your real compensation figures to find the potential return on your investment.) (Remember, that lost income from transition time normally cannot easily be recovered by your new employment situation.)
In today's market, the average search time without a Coaching type model is between 3-6 months. For the example above, that is $50,000 in lost opportunity compensation in 3 months in wages. If you also add in the additional lost benefits of health, dental and life insurance as well, as cell phone, computer, travel and car allowance the real cost could be as much as $74000 for 3 months or $2466 per month.
Before we enter into a coaching relationship, our typical prospective coaching clients think that our fees are excessive, especially when they are in transition. The typical client spends $500-900 with us over an 4 to 8 week period. That means if we shorten your search by 1 month our ROI is usually $24 for every dollar invested when you are in transition. (Investment $600, $100 per week for 6 weeks and we help shortened the period of transition by 1 month, our candidates get a return of $8300) That is actually our typical return.)
Our typical candidate spends 6-10 weeks in transition as opposed to 6 to 10 months in today's market. We have actually had coachees placed and working in 30 days or less. As an additional bonus, most of our clients tend to receive an increase in compensation of 10% or more from the prior job. (Please read our goal for the cost of coaching below)

***Our Coaching Fees: We believe our Transition Coaching costs are reasonable, affordable and designed to allow our candidates to benefit most from the time we spend together. We only schedule one half hour per week with each candidate, so as to enable them to get their real work done which is to "get THAT NEXT job."
Our fees are based on a $95 per 1/2 hour or $190 per hour schedule. We also provide customized pricing packages which enable our clients to reduce their cost. We check your progress regularly and are available for brief counseling @ a no fee basis when needed. (Over the past 8 years our fees have consistently been no more than of one week's salary for most of our clients.)
Our job is to be your mentor until you know who you are and why you have value. Then we become your sales manager to be sure you follow the program until you secure an interview. Finally to be your coach until you secure a new position.
Our average candidates spend 6-8 weeks with us before they secure a new job.
